Boilies are the most popular carp fishing bait, boilies are easy to store and have a proven track record for catching carp.

Boilies are usually made from eggs, protein powder, and plus a mixture of flavours and enhancers. This mixture is rolled into small balls and boiled, hence the name boilies.

Boilies, due to their shape and hardness are easy to mount, whether side hooked or hair-rigged and also easy to apply over long distances either by throwing, catapult.

There are two types of boilies, shelf life boilies and frozen boilies (also known as freezer baits). These come in different sizes.

Shelf life boilies will keep for months in their original packaging and while keep a fair while once opened. Frozen boilies are made use fresh rather than preserved eggs, but will not last long once defrosted.
