I am one of the lucky few who were born close to the bank. I have spent actually almost my entire childhood on the bank. My grandfather was an official fisherman, so I spent a lot of time with him on the river Tisza and on the surrounding dead channels. My father is an obsessed angler too and my obsession is their heritage. It was obvious that during the summers we were chasing the fish together with my cousin, Tamas. This obsession is still there with us on all our sessions. To have a chance to play a fish – weight doesn’t matter – and to put it back to the water afterwards. One of my aims is to teach the children to think ahead, and apply the humane treatment and the catch and release principle in their fishing.
