Question:

"Up until now I had been fishing on a lake where I didn’t need to cast further than 40-50 m. But now I have found another lake where the old watercourse is about 100 m from the bank and I would like to fish that spot. What kind of rig should I use for long casting?”

Answer:

Maybe I am correct if I say that you can attain the longest casting distances with the helicopter rig. Years ago there were lot of arguments, as to if the heli-rig was safe to use, or not, in terms of fish care. At that time, anglers usually used two fixed beads on the mainline and the swivel rotated with the hooklink between these two accessories. We were on the side that said this end tackle is dangerous because if the mainline breaks, that fish is obliged to carry the lead, because the swivel and the hooklink has no chance to release. The evolution of the accessories and tackle ingredients resulted in that now, we have a solution for this problem. If you use the Heli-Chod System according to our suggestion, the soft bead slips down easily to release the swivel with the hooklink and the hooked fish when it is necessary. From now on we can cast extreme distances and we can be sure that our end tackle is safe.

Please watch the video at the end of the article and we will show you everything that you need to know to tie this rig correctly.
