I would like to recommend to you a great rig suited to fishing with a pop up hookbait. It is really simply to tie, also recommended for beginners. Moreover, that it is a really easy-to-tie rig, there are some more advantages. If necessary, you can change your hook with one simple movement, and to change your hookbait takes only few seconds.  Also important, is that after carp sucks up the rig, the bait moves backward easily on the hookshank which ensures that the hook hangs in optimum hooking position at that moment. It is the The Multi Rig, also known as the Jon Mac Rig.

Let's see what do we need to tie this rig!

  • Dark Firefly Pop Up (15 mm)
  • Grip-Tip hook
  • Bodyguard Coated Hooklink
  • Pop Up Screw (or you can use a Rig Ring with a bait floss)
  • Lead shot or Tungsten Putty

Let's see how to make in step by step!

Besides the rig elements it is always good to have a fine baiting needle and a great scissors for braided lines
