The Mysterious Lake (part 4)

I decided that I would go fishing for a six-day campaign on a wild lake with lots of weed and with very little chance to get a major catch. But where there is a will, there is a way... I was fishing on a small sandbar which had a tree on the top at a depth of 4,5 meters. For the first few days I fed the fish mostly with boilies (Eurostar Shellfish 20 mm, and Eurobase Krill 24 mm), which proved to be a mistake because I attracted catfish on the feeding spot and they were swallowing anything that I threw in the lake. For the first four days I had five catches but I pulled in only one catfish (10kg). I couldn’t land the other four because of thick weed in the lake.

Because of that, I had to change my tactics - and I started to feed the fish only with tiger nuts, corn and turnip rape. And that was a massive feeding 20 kg-30 kg at a time because I had a large number of catfish and other small fish in my fishing position. I also changed my hook bait and tried only tiger nut with SBS pop ups (Dark Firefly Pineapple) and in a PVA bag I added pellets (SBS M2 - 6 mm) and boilie (SBS M2 of 20 mm). Already, by the next morning, that had brought me success and I managed to catch a beautiful grass carp of 22.5 kg. Up to the end of the campaign, I had only one catch, which again I did not realize because of thick weed.

After a few days break, I returned to the lake, but I changed my fishing position. This time I was fishing on a plateau at a depth of 2.90 m, where I expected a lot of action, but because of the heat it was just the opposite. Despite that, though, I did catch and succeeded to land a beautiful grass carp of 14.30 kg. Again, I tricked the fish with SBS Dark Firefly Pineapple Pop Ups .
