The Mysterious Lake (part 5)

After the expected hard end to winter, spring finally brought warmer temperatures and the lake started to thaw, so I immediately started feeding my chosen position at a depth of 2 m, and fishing in that location for four days, but unfortunately without any success.  All theories explain that fish usually move to the shallows at this point, into warmer water, but not in this lake. There's no explanation why it was otherwise in this case, but that's why I call it a mysterious lake.

So I decided to change the position to try at a depth of 5.5 m. I fed it mostly with maize, oilseed rape, barley and hemp, and each day added a 30-40 SBS M2 (20 mm) boilies, and 20 mm Soluble EUROBASE Ready-Made Jam strawberry boilies. The first three days passed without any success and then finally I had a catch on an SBS pop up M2 (14mm) and pop up corn. I managed to catch a beautiful grass carp of 18.5 kg.

I finished my campaign the next day but decided to come back again in a few days. Finally, my eagerly awaited return to the lake, to my old position where I intended fishing for the next five days. The first two days I had four bites, but only one of them was realized. The fish that I succeeded to catch was a huge grass carp weighing 29.5 kg. This fish was caught with a winning combination, something with which I had been fishing consistently well with in recent years, that is an SBS M2 pop up and plastic pop up corn.

The last morning I had another bite on SBS Euro Pop Shelf Life Strawberry Jam 16 mm…. a beautiful black common carp weighing 16.55 kg. I was overjoyed because this fish really is one of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen and been fortunate enough to take a picture of with it.
